As Seen in Jezebel

Happy Friday

I’m breaking with the traditional Fave Five this week (as I’ve mentioned, still trying to get in my content production groove) and am excited to share my recent feature in Jezebel Magazine. As I sit in my light-filled office and type this, I’m reminded of the reasons I love working from home. I always tried to make my Spanx spaces feel personalized, but there’s something special about having all of your own things surround you. Below are a few tips for making your office, wherever it may be, a place you can’t wait to go.

Make it Personal

For me, this comes by way of an inspiration board, filled with photos and notes, magazine tears and mini pieces of art. I also keep a favorite wedding portrait and photo of Elle nearby.

Keep a Color Scheme

Whether you decide to keep everything rainbow bright or prefer a more muted neutral palate like yours truly, I find that it’s easiest on the eye when you stick to your guns. I love gold and white for my office because it’s clean and bright is a perfect backdrop for the beautiful mess that is typically my desk.

Let Your Jewelry Mix In

I often take off my earrings and rest them on a coaster. It’s an easy way to dress up the desk, if you don’t space for a permanent objet .

How did you decorate your office? One day I’d love built in desks and room for a window seat, the perfect place to daydream.
