Have you ever been in a workout rut? Don’t get me wrong, I love working out. I love my trainer(s). I love the classes I take and I love my workout friends. Yet, I find myself becoming increasingly likely to sleep through my alarm, snack on something that zaps my motivation (i.e. SUGAR!) and rationalize why it’s better to hang out with Elle on the couch instead of taking her on a walk.
I’ve been racking my brain, trying to figure out the root of the issue. I think it’s a combination of self-imposed stress associated with starting my own business and having semi-unrealistic expectations about how much time and energy is required to “have it all,” in this case a business, a baby, a marriage, a clean house, friends, family, etc.
I realize that making time for myself and getting to workout are luxuries that I’m lucky to have, so my goal this week is to remember those two things. I’m also going to switch up my workouts a bit and try something that relieves stress in a new (and seemingly on-trend) way: Boxing.
Stay tuned for a post on Boxing 101. I’m going to be recording the session (my first Vlog) in the hopes that on the days I skip a workout, I can watch it and work up a sweat. You’ll have to let me know what you think and if you like it, I can start filming workouts and sharing them with you.
