Summer Supper: Do You Dine Al Fresco?

Eating Outside Isn’t Just For the Birds

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is to sit outside and eat dinner with Elle. Because we don’t do it as often as I would like, we try to make it special when the outdoor dining occasions arise.

One of the ways we’ve made it special is by gearing our “gear” towards Elle. This little picnic table is beyond adorable and the perfect size for two-year-olds (bonus, it’s on sale!). We also use these bamboo forks and spoons (the knives we leave inside for obvious reasons). These are Juliska utensils and they come as a set. The salad fork and tea spoon are truly ideal for little hands. Bonus, you can repurpose them as a full place setting when you’re entertaining adults. I sourced them on Perigold, the same place that we got our Matouk towels.

Picking the Perfect Plates

The bamboo plates are ones I’ve been eyeing for a long time. I had four dinner plates and cocktail plates and just recently added the dessert plates. Do you start by buying a certain number of plates per set? I am still learning here, but four seems like the right place to start if you can’t get a full table all at once.

I also got this triple server as my friend Emily of Stuffy Muffy always serves the cutest cocktail snacks and has me all inspired. I also am dying for the Bamboo Platters that she has on display in her home. So chic!

Enjoy these photos of sweet Elle prepping to dine al fresco and let me know your favorite ways to celebrate summer!

Thanks to Perigold for sponsoring this post. Their home selections are top-notch and I highly recommend you checking them out.

Isn’t this mini outdoor dining table the cutest?!

Reason 555 that we never use knives with Elle around.

These darling shots were taken by the lovely Niamh Wilkins, who happens to be my intern.
