What to Wear on Vacation

Read all about our Italy trip a few years ago here.

What to Wear on Vacation

Are you packing up and headed somewhere this summer? I know I am itching to travel after what feels like a long hiatus. Traveling is one of my favorite ways to generate new ideas – a window into new ways of life and culture – something that I have really missed.

In pondering where we may go this summer and fall, I was inspired to think up dream vacation outfit ideas for you (and me too!). Scroll below to shop the fun places I picked including Paris, Mykonos and Cape Cod.

Coastal Northeast

What to wear in Cape Cod! Northern coastal style for the grandmillennial at heart.

California

Palm Springs is the LA based locals vacation hotspot. Dress for the desert in these dresses that can take you from day to night.

Need Some Packing Tips Too?

Having an outline of your activities makes it easier to see which pieces you need for when. From planning ahead to sticking to a certain color family, I’ve got you covered here.

French Countryside

I am hopeful to visit Provence one day. If I do, I will be taking a page out of this collage. The floor length maxi dress stunner to a cute shorts outfit with a hat for daytime antiquing.

Greece

Mykonos, Greece is known for its party atmosphere. Order a fun new swimsuit and coverup to have you looking chic while poolside.

Other Vacation Prep Tips and Tricks

  • Get your hair done pre-trip and during so your hair stays fresh
  • Bring skincare on the plane so you don’t dry out
  • Buy a neck pillow for the plane so you can try and get some rest
  • Make sure your identification documents are in a safe, easily accessible place
  • Schedule photo opportunities (book your session early!)

NYC

What to wear in New York City! You can never go wrong with black in the city, no matter the season. You’ll need comfortable shoes for walking during the day, but be sure to pack a fun pump for a fancy dinner date.

The UK

London style! Love these chic outfit ideas for your travels to Britain. Fancy heels and pretty dresses will make you feel whimsical while taking in all of the history.

Bahamas

One of my favorites – what to wear in the Bahamas (or any resort-like beach island!). We have visited Harbour Island a few times now and have fallen in love. Tropical settings are always a fun place to plan a travel wardrobe for.

France

Parisian style the grandmillennial way! While I prefer darker, more neutral tones for fall and winter, don’t be scared to break out the color and pastels while in Paris for the summer.

Mommy and Me Tropical

Bonus collage! I took Elle on a special mommy and me trip to Harbour Island a few weeks after Michael and I had a getaway. A full post details our trip and all of our outfits!

It’s been lovely to hear all of the beautiful places you’re visiting! If you need ideas, head to this post to see where everyone is traveling. Hope this helps you figure out what to wear on vacation!
