Taking a Trip to London? Read This

Had to take the boys to the palace on our first day – see my travel outfit here.

We just landed home after a trip to London, and I was reminded why it’s long been one of my favorite cities. Between the shopping, beautiful hotels, incredible restaurants, and endless history around every corner, there’s no shortage of things to see and do. It feels like eye candy at every turn, and there are so many ways to experience this lovely city.

In this guide you’d find a collection of the places worth trying, and those we’ve tried that didn’t top the list this trip. Our latest visit was Wimbledon-focused so we had fewer meals in town than typical, and I’m racking my brain to remember everything we did last time we visited in 2023 but if it wasn’t memorable, it’s not worth recommending. I do hope this gives you a few ideas to add to your itinerary, and some inspiration for your next visit.

WEAR

My Wimbledon dress isn’t currently available but I linked plenty of pretty options here. And read all about the behind the scenes here.

The boys’ outfits were a hit at Lilibet’s.

Silk dresses forever!

Erdem is my favorite brand and I loved visiting their London store xx

A long-time favorite look!

STAY

Claridges

Claridge’s stole the show this trip! With ample space for the kids, attention to detail like none other and a posh location, we loved our stay. They also have gorgeous bars, if you’re a night owl. Shopping is close by, as are lots of favorite Mayfair restaurants.

The Goring

The Goring is where we’ve stay in the past, and while lovely, I think it’s best without kids. I love their bar and you’re in good company, Kate stayed here the night before her wedding. We also have enjoyed their tea, and the short walk to Elizabeth Street for shopping.

The Lanesborough

The Lanesborough housed us on our last trip and is great if you’d like to be walking distance to Hyde Park and some of the more touristy attractions such as Buckingham Palace and the Mall. They have some beautiful rooms, but space was not as gracious as Claridge’s.

DINE

Lilibet’s

Lilibet’s topped our list this trip, as it was beautifully decorated and an absolutely delicious meal.

Ambassador’s Clubhouse

Ambassador’s Clubhouse for delicious Indian food. Go with an expert if you can!

Cecconi’s

Cecconi’s was a delicious Italian meal and easy with the kids. Try the Dover sole!

Scott’s

Scott’s is another seafood restaurant that has been a favorite on past trips. Chic scene too.

SHOP

Elizabeth Street

Elizabeth Street in Belgravia houses the beautiful shops of some of my favorite brands like If Only If and Beulah London, as well as kids shops I love including Papouelli Shoes and Pepa & Co. You can also dine and get dessert on the street. A lovely little stroll.

Harrod’s

Harrod’s has it all, and their kids area on floor 4 is all-encompassing!

Erdem

Erdem, one of my all-time favorite brands, just opened a standalone shop on Sloane street and I adored popping in. I even got a bag!

Notting Hill

Notting Hill is home to La Coqueta, our go-to children’s clothier. The neighborhood has an amazing street full of shops, and a couple blocks over, just down Portobello Road (the site of the famous flea market), is Meri Meri, the party store. Biscuiteers is on the same road, and is delightfully worth a visit!

TO DO

In the Summer, Wimbledon can’t be beat! We loved our time here.

We booked a two hour car service to hit all the big sites with the kids, without having to do any walking. Highly recommend!

I love the V&A Museum and any fashion exhibit through the Historic Royal Palaces or Royal Trust Collection is worth seeing!

Strolling the parks is always a favorite, and visiting Kensington Palace and the Orangery was a highlight many years ago.
