The Skirt You Need For Fall…
…is this black tutu. Now if you’re anything like me, when you hear the word tutu your mind goes to one of two places. The first, obviously, is Carrie Bradshaw and the second is, “how on earth am I going to pull off a tutu?” But dress assured, Tutu Moi’s wide range of tutus includes just as many “skirts” as it does traditional “ballerina-inspired” numbers. Check out the different ways I styled this piece…I literally can’t tell you how many compliments this skirt has pulled in. It’s different and unexpected, yet totally wearable. AND, it’s only $150 when you use code BOF15 on the the Tutu Moi website. The black tutu I’m wearing is linked here. If you want to search it by name, it’s called the Calf Length Midi Tutu.
Works Just as Well Styled More Casually
I’m also excited because I get to share some of the mommy and me photos we were asked to take, which are so special. Heidi, the photographer, captured some great shots which speaks to her talent as I think both Elle and I were flustered (the perils of shooting fall/holiday in the August heat). How sweet is the blush tutu? Tutu Moi also has proper Mother/Daughter sets, or you can mix and match like we did (my skirt is the Signature Tutu in ivory).
Tutu: Tutu Moi. Top: Rebecca Taylor. Jacket: Rag and Bone. Shoes: Stuart Weitzman. Elle’s Tutu: Tutu Moi. Elle’s Bow: Wee Ones. Elle’s Shoes: Freshly Picked. Elle’s Doll: Jess Brown. (We lost one of the doll’s socks on the shoot. Darn it!)
Finally, I was waiting to show you this one closer to holiday, but it’s so pretty that I’ll give you a little peek. Isn’t the merlot color so stunning? You know I love shoes, so the high-low hem is perfect to show off pom poms or whatever other shiny ponies you may have up your sleeve come party season.
Don’t forget that you can use code BOF15 on any skirt on the site for 15% off your order. Thank you to the lovely Becca at Tutu Moi for extending that offer.
Can’t wait to see which tutus you pick!
P.s. There are SO many more photos from this shoot. Follow me on Instagram @bornonfifth to see more.
