Mommy and Me Photos with Sarah Jordan Photography

Mommy and Me Photos

When I was a little girl, I remember getting annoyed with my Grandpa Stuart because he always wanted to take photos. Years later I finally understand. My grandfather, who passed away recently, was so proud of his family that he wanted to preserve the memories we were making as they were happening. As a mom, this is especially important to me. Elle changes so much daily. I blink, she’s standing. I blink, she’s saying “buh bye” (in a southern drawl, no less). Capturing these moments is something that I truly cherish and now, with the blog, I feel lucky that it’s become a priority. I also realize that it takes time and effort to capture moments in the best light (literally, look at this light!).

When Sarah of Sarah Jordan Photography approached me about doing a Mommy and Me shoot I was flattered and excited. I was also a little bit nervous, as the shoot was slated for 6:30 p.m. and the location was about an hour away from our house. Once we arrived, Sarah made us feel extremely at ease. She has six (!!!) kids of her own, so knew just how to communicate with Elle. Elle must have been able to sense that Sarah is a pro mama, as she was as well behaved as I’ve ever seen.

The photos speak for themselves. The location(s) could not be more stunning. If you want to take Mommy and Me photos in a natural setting, I highly recommend reaching out to Sarah, who is offering a special for the month of April (just in time to have the photos printed for Mother’s Day!). The mini sessions are 30 minutes and you get 8 stunning digital images in an online gallery for $150, a steal in my opinion.

Here is a link to the dress I wore, for those who have asked. It also comes in blue, which is lovely.

Thank you to Sarah Jordan Photography for these images. Do you have a favorite?
