Jane Birkin has been top of mind this week. I spent time in the city and the basket bag I carried was reminiscent of her understated yet elegant style. I guess that’s the fun thing about referencing fashion icons of the past, you can pull elements from their wardrobes and make them your own.

LAST WEEK ON BORN ON FIFTH
I wore the basket bag this week with fancy dresses and heels and more casually paired to pants – and think both work equally well. The basket doesn’t have to be reserved for the market, but can make its way to Le Bilboquet (as mine did while in the city) or Paris if you’re headed for fashion week. It’s almost chicer as we head into fall, if you ask me xx
