New Year, New Shopping Strategy

The art of shopping is one I’ve quietly perfected, perhaps a little too well. I’ve always had a knack for falling in love with beautiful things, but as the new year arrived (along with a rare moment to pause), I realized it might be time to rein things in. This year, my intention is simple: fewer, better pieces.

Intentional shopping doesn’t mean limiting yourself to basics. Statement pieces have their place, and this one has been worn and reworn. The sign of a good buy.

That mindset began with a closet clean-out that quickly snowballed into a full-house purge. While slightly ambitious, it felt incredibly grounding to step into the new year with what amounts to a clean slate. What remains are pieces that feel true to me. Items with longevity, character, and staying power. Moving forward, I’m trading spur-of-the-moment buys for more mindful purchasing.

That said, I’ll always love discovering, sharing, and occasionally bringing home something beautiful; and trends have their place. The difference is intention. I’m only buying the stars, the pieces I won’t tire of after one season, the ones that earn their place in my wardrobe year after year.

Below, I’ve shared a few of my favorite looks, each one still hanging in my closet, as well as a handful of pieces I’d highly recommend if you’re in search of new staples. Timeless, trusted, and truly worth it.

My mom-life uniform changes depending on the season. While it’s chilly a few flattering pairs of jeans and luxe jackets are the go-to.

A fresh find with a vintage feel. This dress is more than gorgeous.

Peplums have always been a notable part of my personal style so items like this jacket are timeless (for me). And this satin skirt is always a safe choice.

Frame jeans will always be part of my wardrobe. No questions asked.

All black + peplum is an easy outfit formula for me.
