Since having kids, Valentine’s Day has looked different for me but I adore being able to share the meaning of this holiday with our littles to let them know how loved they are. These days, I typically surprise them in the morning with small gift baskets (that can double as future storage) and a sweetly decorated breakfast table. In an effort to make the day special with our hectic schedules I go for minimal effort and maximum wow factor. You can use these tips to create a tablescape for your valentine, your minis or your galentines – it’s perfect for any Valentine’s celebration.
Valentine’s Tablescape Tips
-
Adorn your table with real roses. My favorite site to purchase roses from that will come the next day is Grace Rose Farm. They have the most luxe bouquets in every color palette and right now you can get 30% off of your first purchase with code WELCOME30. My favorite way to cover ground (i.e. the table) without much work is to put each stem in its own bud vase. Easy and impactful!
- Use a cute cloche like this one to add some visual interest and height to your table. I’ve had mine for almost a decade and it’s just as relevant. It’s also on sale. Added a little ribbon to make it extra sweet because this is me, if you even care.
-
Buy heart balloons in your color palette from Amazon or your local party store. I tape mine to the wall so I don’t have to go through the trouble of filling them with helium and they look just as cute.
-
Cover your table with this ruffled tablecloth from Amazon. Adding a ruffle for a frilly finish adds additional visual impact to your table setting. Also love using heart plates and fancy plastic plates. Bonus points if you use leftover party supplies, like these bow placemats from Elle’s third birthday.
-
Make sure you are keep your pinks and reds either warm or cool. Especially in these colors, differing tones can clash and make your tablescape overwhelming to the eye. Because I kept my table muted, the pink, blue and green Valentine’s day gift baskets and heart pillows also looked sweet.
