Elle’s Magical Mermaid Half Birthday Party
We’ve always had a tradition of celebrating half birthdays in our house and because it’s Elle’s golden fifth year (she was born on fifth, like me!), we decided to do something a little extra special! For her four-and-a-half we did our usual half a cake, with a mermaid theme. We leveraged the theme again but this year we brought it to life with with a mermaid pool party for a few pre-k friends!
Mermaid Themed Party Supplies
We had a beautiful pink bounce house via Luxe Bounce and I can’t recommend them enough. I arranged for an early set up and they were on time, totally professional and made everything easy. Then I had Mom’s Kloset add a mermaid tail balloon installation which was a big hit with Elle. I also had mermaid tail and bubble style balloons ready and Lizeth inflated them for me, which added a little something sweet to the walk up to the party and the pool. We also had two types of pool floats for the girls to play on!
Bonjour Fete has the cutest mermaid themed items, and I got the prettiest tablecloth that was the perfect backdrop for all the gorgeous decor. Our half birthday cake sat atop one of my favorite cake stands.
Elle picked out her favorite swimsuits, and I wore an old dress with a swimsuit underneath. Found an almost identical dress here. For photos Elle wore this darling Alice dress, and I wore a similar Mermaid princess puff style. Capturing these magical moments while she’ll still let me! I also matched Elle’s mermaid tail in this fabulous sequined number.
Because it was a pool party, we had a lifeguard, which made me enjoy myself a bit more. Mary Catherine also came to take photos, which always makes the day even better! Enjoy the photos of us jumping…I can’t help but smile when I look at them. Reason enough to get a bounce house, and now that there are such GORGEOUS options available, I may have one at every future party. It was such fun celebrating our little five and a half year old…hope this gives you some ideas if you choose a mermaid party for your own little gal!

Shop Mermaid Party Ideas
We set the stage for guests with a birthday welcome sign outfitted in bows and blooms. Inside the shell-shaped favor bags were mermaid tattoos and the perfect mermaid rings from Gunner and Lux (I got one for myself too!)
Jennings was so handsome in his collared shirt and suit. He had the best time!
Alicia from Pum’s Sweets made Elle’s half birthday cake. This buttercream and chocolate creation might have been the best yet.
