What to Wear to a Football Game If You’re Fancy

Is Taylor’s foray into WAG status turning stadium style into the new street style? The verdict is out, but I have always considered dressing up for a sporting event, well, a sport of sorts. Thinking back to my college days when I wrote the fashion column for the Red & Black (The University of Georgia’s newspaper) and opined on why Southern women dress up for football games, I stand by the fact that it’s called a sporting *event* which makes my mind go to dress code, which, if you’re me, means fancy.

Whether you’re typically a casual girl and in need of some fancy football fan inspo or are already a sophisticated sports fan wearing your Sunday best, below are a few favorite outfits from seasons past to reference this time around. Prefer the Cliff’s Notes? Think chic silhouettes in your team’s colors, limited (if any) logo’ed apparel (free pass to use your child’s outfit as an accessory here) and heels, always.

Love the silhouette these flares give. Perfect when paired with a lady jacket and platforms. Elle’s jersey can be found here.

My look from the game over the weekend (hi Travis). These DL1961 jeans are a favorite.

Another version of my game day uniform.

Chic all black look. Love this Jil Sander bamboo bag and this Liberowe denim jacket. Adore this cropped option if you’re not a peplum person, or if your team has a white accent this velvet look.

I keep it casual for the kids so they’re comfortable for the whole game and get their Falcons gear here.
