I have to be honest. I never understood how special Mother’s Day was until I became a mother myself. It’s a day I look forward to not because of the gifts (though those are always lovely), but it reminds me how much of myself I give to others, and how much other mothers (or those who mother even if it’s not their own children like our dear nanny) give to me.
